MARTINEZ, ADELE R. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Central Church of the Nazarene for Adele R. Martinez, age 94, of Roswell who passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2013. Pastor Randy Elftman of Central Church of the Nazarene will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Family will meet and greet visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
Adele was born March 14, 1919 in Cimeron, NM to Teofilo and Manuela Roybal. They have preceded her in death.
Adele married Matias Matt Martinez on July 30, 1939 in Chihuahua, Mexico. He has also preceded her in death as well as a son, Marco Aurelio.
Adele is survived by a five sons: Hugo Martinez of Ribera, NM, Aurelio Roybal and his wife Percilla of Santa Fe, NM, Henry Roybal and his wife Patricia of Challis, ID, Dino Roybal of Santa Fe, NM, and Hector Martinez of Denver, Co. two daughters, Adele Bozeman and her husband Michael
of Roswell, NM and Sandra Martinez of Chattanooga, TN, one sister inlaw Georgia Roybal of Santa Fe, NM. one sister, Sylvia Demaline of Oregon, two brothers, Joe Roybal of Utah and Ernesto Roybal of Nevada.
The fifteen surviving grandchildren, are Elena Roybal Schmelzenbach, Matthew Roybal, Jonathan Roybal, Alethea Bozeman Hartwell, Nicole Roybal, Cristina Roybal Robinson, Sabra Roybal, Michael Ray Bozeman, Esteban Roybal Joshua Roybal, Lynetta Bozeman Zuber, Alankin Roybal, Benjamin Roybal, Anthony Martinez, and Angela Martinez. Adele also had nine great grandchildren.
Adele loved her family and her Lord, she was a devoted wife and mother who instilled good moral values and strong religious upbringing. Her dedication to her family and her faith will remain a legacy to her children and generations to come.
Adele was known for her humorous quips and wittiness. Those who have met her readily liked her. And she became a good friend to those she met.
Adele loved going to church and her favorite saying was Glory to God in the Highest. She was a past member of the Young at Heart Club at the First Church of the Nazarene. She attended Central Church of the Nazarene.
Adele will be sorely missed by her children and their husbands and wives, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives, and many many friends.
Adele Martinez left this world peacefully with the full acknowledgement that her family loved her dearly and will surely be remembered forever and ever.
Pallbearers will be Aurelio Roybal, Henry Roybal, Dino Roybal, Hector Martinez, Mathew Roybal and Alankin Roybal. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Bozeman, Michael Ray Bozeman, Benjamin Roybal, Joshua Roybal, Jonathon Roybal, Esteban Roybal and Anthony Marintez.
