A.E. Willamson

December 14, 1919 — July 19, 2016

A.E. WILLIAMSON- Proud to be an American and native New Mexican, Albert Ernest Williamson, "Poppy" was born on December 14, 1919 in Roosevelt County, Milnesand, New Mexico at the homeplace of parents, Albert and Ada Belle (Herrington) Williamson. He passed from this earth at his residence, Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

A.E. married his sweetheart, Ila Faye Flatt in Carlsbad, New Mexico on February 26, 1948. Together they ranched for over forty years in the Lea County, Crossroads, New Mexico community and had two daughters, Marilyn Ann, who passed away in 1967 and Carolyn Nan Williamson.

A kind-hearted, gentle man, A.E. loved Jesus, enjoyed His faith and shared encouragement with others by conversation, creative writing, humor, hunting and music. He was a part of Narrow Way Fellowship and immediate family remaining who will remember his loving nature are wife, Faye, daughter Carolyn and husband, Lyman of Roswell, granddaughters Celeste (Graham) Benefield and husband, Jason of Destrehan, Louisiana, Camille (Graham) Figueroa and husband, Michael of Mayhill, and Camaryn (Graham) Henington and husband, Kevin of Roswell. A.E. was also so proud to be a Great Granddad to Jaslin, Addison and Eden Benefield, and Maycie and Mason Henington. He loved his friends and family deeply and passed from this earth with joy and anticipation of happily forever.

Graveside services will be at the Tatum Cemetery in Tatum, NM, 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2016. Pallbearers include Jason Benefield, Michael Figueroa, Kevin W. Henington, Kevin Mason Henington, Stewart Williamson, Gary Williamson, and Jim Williamson. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Romero, Jim Evans, Adolf Castrillo, Carl Gerken and Russell Burris.
