Alden Wilson, Sr.

WILSON, SR., ALDEN C.Memorial services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 15, 2008 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Alden C. Wilson, SR., age 83, of Roswell, who passed away February 11, 2008, at a local care center. Harley Parnell will officiate.

Alden was born May 10, 1924 in South Albany, Vermont to Clarence and Lida Bean Wilson, they have preceded him in death as well as two brothers, Grant and Gilbert Wilson, Two sisters, Rena Sweeney and Avis Sweeney and a granddaughter, Tara Wilson.

Alden married Cherrie D. Maranville on June 19, 1950 in South Albany, Vermont. She survives him at the family home.

Alden is survived by sons: Alden Clarence Wilson, JR. and his wife Susan of Roswell, Brian Wilson and his wife Julie of Robinson, IL; granddaughter: Ellen Wilson of Robinson, IL and grandson Jarred Wilson of Roswell. Nephew: Dean Sweeney and his wife Ruth of Newport, VT.

Alden worked as school director at Albany, VT at the Village of School. He was a dairy farmer. He was Justice of the Peace in Albany, VT for several years, that was his most enjoyable work. He also worked for seven years at Raulston, Purina and Checkerboard feeds in St. Johns Berry, VT. Then they moved to Roswell in 1975 due to cardiac disease.
