Allen Smoot

SMOOT, ALLEN Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1st United Pentecostal Church for Allen Smoot, who passed away February 2, 2010. Pastor J.E. Shirley of the 1st United Pentecostal Church will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Allen was born on February 10, 1940 to Henry and Elena Smoot in Bloomington, Indiana. His father has preceded him in death.

On February 11, 1961, Allen married Rose Marie Knott in Roswell. She survives him at the family home.

Allen was a Manager at Department of the Motor Vehicle and retired in 2003. He was a member of the 1st United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed gardening and took pride in sharing his chilis and tomatoes. He was making plans again for this spring garden.

He is survived by three sons: Henry A. Smoot and his wife Kathleen of Largo, Fl, Robert E. Smoot and his wife Jennifer of Artesia and Rev. Wayne Smoot and his wife Elizabeth of Citrus Springs, Fl. his mother: Elena Powell of Solsberry, IN Sisters: Juanita Mroczek of Albuquerque, NM, Beverly Mulanax of Ft Worth, TX and Georgia Chambers of Memphis, TN ten grandchildren: Lori Kesler and her husband Loyd, Lisa Amato and her husband Pete, Lynn Deal and her husband Chris, Amber Rose Smoot, Mackenna Renee Smoot, Robert W.. Smoot, Kyler A Smoot, Charles Smoot, Garrett Smoot and Jacob Smoot, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews..

Pallbearers will be R.W. Smoot, Eddie Ellis, Jesus Gomez, Al Almond, David Almond and Alvin Almond, Jr., Honorary pallbearers are Roy Pulley, Kyler Smoot, Charles Smoot, Garrett Smoot and Jacob Smoot
