Aneda Torres

TORRES, ANEDA S. -- Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, April 16, 2007 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Aneda S. Torres, age 94 of Roswell, who passed away April 8, 2007 at a local nursing home. Fr. Juan Montoya, OFM of St. Johns Catholic Church will conduct the services.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, at the Lincoln Cemetery, in Lincoln, NM.

Aneda was born April 19, 1912 in Arabela, New Mexico to Antonio and Emiliana Lucero Sanchez. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as 4 sisters, Dalila Archuleta, Sedia Sanchez, Erminia Vegara and Conferina Baca, and 2 brothers, Clovis Sanchez and Antonio Sanchez, Jr.

She married Paz Jiron Torres on December 26, 1932 in Carrizozo, NM. He preceded her in death. Four sons also preceded her in death; Louis V. Torres, Ernest J. Torres, Sosteno Eric Torres, and Paz Torres, Jr.

Survivors include a son, Clovis J. Torres and his wife Marilyn Briseno of Clovis, CA, and 2 daughters; Irene A. Jones of Fresno, CA and Gloria V. Chavez and her husband Trinidad R. Chavez, Jr. of Roswell. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Aneda was a homemaker, and a member of St. Johns and a member of the Salvation Army.

Aneda will lie in state all day Friday. The Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Friday at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Fernando Montoya, Tito Montoya, Chris Martinez, Willie Vegara, Joey Vegara, Louis F. Jones, and Gene Sanchez

Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
