Anna Stovall

July 26, 1934 — August 20, 2016

Anna Grace Veronica Gallegos was born July 26, 1934 in Magdalena New Mexico to Cruz and Margaret Gallegos. She passed away on August 20, 2016 in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Grace had many loves. She had a love for her family, but she only had one true love, Elvis Presley. Over the years she became quite the collector of his memorabilia, she was his biggest fan. She also had a love for television. Her favorite shows were westerns and soap operas. She never missed an episode.
In 1945 Grace and her family moved to California. In 1951 she met and married Ramon Ballesteros and had two children, Yolanda and Richard.

In 1955 she married again to Garland Willard Stovall. During their time in California they had four children, Larry, Dallas, Garland Jr. and Dusty. Grace and her family lived a happy life and made many friends, including one of her best, Mary Lou Runyon, who she remained close to until her passing.

In 1974, the Stovall family moved to Earth, Texas. That same year they had a fifth child, Carla Marie. There, Grace worked for the local newspaper, the Earth News Sun. Grace lived there until they moved to Dexter, New Mexico in 1980 where she went to work at the Roswell Daily Record until her retirement. During her time in Dexter, Grace was a big influence to many people. She spent her time providing for others and giving her love and support any way she could.
In 1991 she moved to Arizona to be closer to family. There, she enjoyed her retirement, her children's marriages, and the births of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In 2001 Grace moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She attended the Cheyenne Senior Citizens Center where she made some lifelong friends, including Opal Ford Wright. They were inseparable, playing pitch once a week and making their Wal-Mart trips to Elk City. She was also a member of the Church of Christ which she attended regularly with friends and family.

Grace had many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she was very proud of. She enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them and loved them all dearly. One of the most important things to her was remembering each birthday and sending a card every year.

Grace is survived by her sister, Gloria Chavez. Her sons, Larry Stovall and Garland (Jay) Stovall Jr. Her daughters Dallas Ann Purcella and Carla Gladden. 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many cousins.

Grace is proceeded in death by her parents, Cruz and Margaret Gallegos. Her husband Garland Stovall Sr., daughter Yolanda Crawford, and her sons Richard Ballesteros and Dusty Stovall.

Services will be held on Saturday August 27, 2016 at 9:00 AM at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. 900 S. Main St. Roswell NM. 88203. Officiating will be Lisa Gavi.

Pallbearers will be Larry Stovall, Garland (Jay) Stovall, Jr., Justin Henderson, Brandon Purcella, Toby Gladden, and Reggie Jackson.
