Ara Stephens

STEPHENS, ARA LEE Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church for Ara Lee Stephens, age 76, of Roswell, who passed away on December 13, 2011. Rev. Wayne Griffin of Second Baptist Church in Amraillo will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Ara was born July 28, 1935 in BeVille, Texas to Bernie and Addie Mae Henson. They have preceded her in death.
Ara married Billy Wayne Stephens on January 30, 1950 in Brownfield, TX. He also has preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son: Billy Dale Stephens of Lubbock, TX daughters: Elizabeth Ann Lorton of Lubbock, TX and Kim Grant of Amarillo, TX brothers: Clay Bryan Henson of Odessa, TX, Kermit Bruce Henson of Port Blanc, TX and Charles Douglas Henson of Beaumont, TX sisters: Avon Stephens of Palm Desert, CA, Joann Brown of Lubbock, TX and Linda Kay Ault of Amarillo, TX Nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Ara was a Secretary for a Dr. Office. She was a member of the Newcomers and Senior Circle. She enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
