Archie Terry

Long time Roswell resident, Archie D. Terry Jr (Papa) passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Archie will lie in state all day Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at West Country Club Road Church of Christ. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Brother Gregory Jones will officiate.
Archie was born on April 2, 1935 in Cameron TX to Archie D Terry Sr. and Doris L Anderson. Archie worked at numerous jobs in Roswell including Rainbow Bakery, LTD and RISD (pony express). He was very active and loved to golf, fish, bowl, play pool, dominos and cards. He was an active member of the Elm Street Church of Christ. Archie loved all of his family and loved to tell stories to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved his community and knew most everyone and they knew him.
He was proceeded in death by both parents, two sisters, Doris Terry & Lola (Lady) Warner, also two brothers, Otha Lee Terry & Dale Adams.
He is survived by his loving wife Magnolia Smith Terry, just shy of 62 years; two sons, Royce Allen of Roswell and Kenneth Wayne Terry and his wife Susan of Phoenix AZ; four daughters, Joyce Bolden and her husband Berkley of Humble TX, Debra Bailey and her Tommy of Midland TX, Gloria Terry, and Pauline Rudolpho and her husband Anthony both of Roswell, NM; sixteen Grandchildren and thirty-three Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Eddie and Alvin Terry; three Sisters, Willie Mae, Martha, and Sherry all of California; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We'd also like to acknowledge Penny King, Donna Gonzales, and Paula Rubio all of California who have been an extended part of our family for many, many years.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Terry, J.C. Crider, Marcus Bolden, Kenneth Wayne Terry Jr., Estevan Vigil, and Eric Christopher. Honorary pallbearers will be his many close friends and family.
