BURSON, ARTHUR W. Graveside Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 7, 2009, at South Park Cemetery, for Arthur W. Burson, age 89 of Roswell, who passed away February 4, 2009, at Las Cruces, New Mexico. Rev. Donald Corley of Farmington, New Mexico will conduct the services.

Arthur was born January 13, 1920 in Des Moines, New Mexico to Arthur and Mamie Savage Burson. Preceding him in death, both parents, Cleitus Burson brother, Sam Burson brother, Anna Lee Hughes sister, sons, Carl Douglas, grandson David L. Burson.

He married Winnie E. Click on September 14, 1940. She survives him at Las Cruces Nursing Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Arthur was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He had retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company in 1983, as the Roswell Station Superintendent after working there for 32 years. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include a son, Lloyd R. Burson and his wife Diana of Anthony, New Mexico. Granddaughter Laura OConnor and her husband Kevin of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Brothers: James Burson Glenda, Glendale, Arizona, Eugene Burson Frieda, Farmington, New Mexico, Chester Burson Helen, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Burnell Burson Rosie, Farmington, New Mexico. Sisters: Alberta Corley Don, Farmington, New Mexico, Ella Hicks Vernon, Farmington, New Mexico. Also numerous nephews and nieces.
