Aubert Arthurs

ARTHURS, AUBERT L. AUTIE -- Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2007, at Gateway Church, for Aubert L. Autie Arthurs, age 78, of Roswell, who passed away January 24, 2007 at his home. Pastor Ricky Rapp and Rev. Virgil Mills of Gateway Church will conduct the service. Burial will be at South Park Cemetery with Military Honors by Roswell Veterans Honor Guard. .

Aubert was born June 23, 1928 in Hinton, Oklahoma, to Frank and Lucille Knickerbocker Arthurs. Both parents preceded him in death, as well as a brother, Dick.

He married Betty Jo Lee, on December 12, 1953 . She survives him at the family home.

He worked many years in the automotive industry in Mendota, Illinois, prior to retiring to Roswell in 1985. He served his country during the Korean War, from 1949 until 1953. He acquired the rank of Staff Sgt. with the U. S. Air Force.

He was a member of Gateway Church, and active in the Bus Ministry for both church and school. He was active in Bible Study Groups and Activities, including the Salty Saints.

Survivors include 3 sons, Ron Arthurs and his wife Lisa of Roswell, Jeff Arthurs and his wife Sharon of Mendota, IL., and Kevin Arthurs of Papillion, NE, and a daughter Kathy Vaughn and her husband Tom of Papillion, NE. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
