Barbara Borchelt

BORCHELT, BARBARA KATHRYNServices are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Barbara Kathryn Borchelt, age 75 of Roswell who went to her heavenly home on July 9, 2013 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. The Rev. Robert Paul of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Roswell will conduct the service. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Mercedes, Texas on July 19, 2013.

Barbara was born February 16, 1938 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Ruby Kelley Young and Herman E. Young. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in El Paso. She was confirmed also at Zion Lutheran Church on March 18, 1951.

Barbara married the love of her life, Marvin Dale Borchelt at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in El Paso, Texas on September 1, 1956. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2010.

After living in El Paso, Colorado and Wisconsin, she and her family moved to Roswell. She loved being a wife and mother, raising her four children and being a homemaker was her priority. She then was employed by RISD for 18 years and following that she volunteered at Immanuel Lutheran School for three years.

Barbara loved to host gatherings for friends and family especially for Holidays. She was an excellent cook and hostess. Family was the most important thing to her in her earthly life.

Survivors include her son: Dale Borchelt and wife, Elaina of Quakertown, Pennsylvania daughters: Cindy Borchelt of Roswell, Stacy Huebner and husband Steve of Roswell and Marci Vautrot of Missoula, Montana eleven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister: Jerri Jones, who was also her best friend, and her husband John Paul Jones brother: Steven Young and his wife Monica and nieces and nephews who were also an important part of her life.

Pallbearers will be Steve Young, Ishmael Wright, Luke Huebner, Martin Huebner, Hugh Taylor, and Steve Huebner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brennan Borchelt, Jacob Vautrot, Paul Huebner, Eugene Peterson, Bill Follick, and Gene Balderson.

Friends may make memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran School, 1405 N. Sycamore, Roswell, NM 88201.
