Barbara Sue Waggoner was born on June 27, 1956 in Roswell, New Mexico to Eugene Alton Waggoner and Hazel Ruth Chatfield. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday February 24, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Roswell for Barbara Sue Waggoner-Van Eaton, age 60, who passed away February 17, 2017.
Barbara was extremely generous and easy to talk to. She loved nature and had a great appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. She especially loved planting flowers with her granddaughter and watching them grow. She loved her family dearly, especially her precious grandchildren. She was loyal and patriotic, with a great love for her country and community. She had many friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. We rejoice that she is reunited with her husband, whom she loved dearly, missed tremendously and spoke of often.
Her mother and father preceded her in death. She was the youngest of two children.
She is survived by her older brother, Dennis Waggoner and his wife, Sally, and their children Jason, Beth, Gene, Hayden, Catherine and Brandon. Barbara graduated from Goddard High School in 1974. She married James Frederick Van Eaton on March 29, 1986 in Roswell, New Mexico. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Suzanne Cobb and her husband, Nathan, of Roswell and their children Lena Marie Frederick and Nathan James Monroe, and Katie Ann Kleinert and her husband, Falk, of Chattanooga, Tennessee and their children Owen and Ian Oliver.
