FINNEY, BARBARA A memorial service will be held at Landsun Homes Manor, 2002 Westridge Road, Carlsbad, NM on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., for Barbara Finney, age 92, of Carlsbad, New Mexico who passed away April 24, 2009.

Barbara was born July 6, 1916 in Fairmede, Saskatchewan, Canada to Andrew and Ann Hunt. They have preceded her in death.

Barbara graduated from Winnipeg General Hospital in 1942 with an R.N. degree. She and several members of her graduation class moved to the Santa Monica, California area in 1947. She met Donald Finney and they were married on November 18, 1950 in Pacific Palisades, California. After many years in California, they moved to Roswell in the 1980s. After Donalds death in 2000, she moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico.

She is survived by a son, Brian Finney and his wife Jean of San Jose, California; a niece, Anne Belanger and her husband Gerard of Heathsville, Virginia; a nephew, David Hunt and his wife Elsie of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; a great-nephew, Jeff Hunt, his wife Jane and their daughter Jessica; a great-niece, Susanne Hunt, her husband Stuart Cohen, and their daughter Sarah.

She was an expert seamstress, and enjoyed many crafts. She was an avid gardener and had been a member of the Roswell Garden Club. She also greatly enjoyed the companionship of her cats.
