Scott, Baunita Bonnie Mae
Memorial services are scheduled for October 19, 2012 at 2:00pm at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Baunita Bonnie Mae Scott, age 83, of Roswell NM. She passed away on October 11, 2012 at her home. Tim Arlett, the pastor of Adventure Bible Church will conduct the service. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Bonnie was born February 16,1929 in Marshalltown, Iowa to John and Nancy Price Fouts. She was married to Kenneth Dale Scott on August 28,1949 in Marshall town, IA. They moved to Roswell, NM in 1962.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nancy Fouts husband, Kenneth Scott a son, Gregory Scott and a granddaughter, April Rose Scott.
Survivors include 2 sons: Steven Scott and his wife, Cindy of Lampasas, TX Stan Scott and his wife, Jeanette of Bloomington, MN a daughter, Gloria Montgomery and her husband Bill of Roswell and a daughterinlaw, Nancy Scott of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Chris Scott of Sierra Vista, AZ Jonathan Scott of Tucson, AZ Monty Montgomery and his wife Samantha of Rio Rancho, NM Robby Montgomery and his wife, Valerie of Socorro, NM: Andy and Jeremiah Montgomery of Roswell, NM and Jason Scott of Albuquerque NM. She has three greatgrandchildren Steven Scott of Tucson, AZ Sarah and Ethan Montgomery of Socorro, NM.
Bonnie raised her children with a kind but firm hand. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. There was nothing that she loved better than having her children visit. There were freshly made chocolate chip cookies in the cookie jar and a box of toys in the closet. In the past few years, she wasnt able to cook so she kept ice cream bars in her freezer for her grandkids.
Bonnie was a Cub Scout leader for her sons. When she decided to go to work for the Roswell Independent School district, she was a teachers aide. She was passionate about helping the children do the best that they could in school.
Bonnie was a member of First Christian Church. Her faith was an example to all of us. She was a member of the Mary Martha and Guild womens groups. She participated in Chaves County Extension Club.
