Bernardo “Lalo” Merino, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 4, 2020 in Roswell. He was born on August 13, 1945 in Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico to the home of Antonio and Maria Merino. Bernardo later married his wife Blanca on April 2, 1967.
Bernardo is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years; parents; sons Jorge and Francisco; brothers Pepe and Rafael and sister Carmela Dominguez.
Bernardo was a genuine family man. He was a hard worker who instilled those values in his boys. He spent his early years as an international truck driver and later worked as a welder/farmhand before retiring. Bernardo was an adventurous soul who enjoyed being outdoors spending countless hours working on various projects or inventions in his backyard. He will be missed for his strong-willed character, his humor, and his loving smile.
Those to carry on his legacy include sons Jesse Merino and wife Veronica of Johnstown, Colorado, Eduardo Merino and wife Maricela of Roswell, New Mexico, and Fredie Merino and wife Christi of Canyon, Texas; grandchildren Shelby Rael, Adrian Merino and wife Tiffany, Abigail Medeles, Christian Merino, Mikaela Merino, Eduardo Merino, and Jesus Merino; great-grandchildren Reverie, Lukas, Gideon, and Knoxly.
