MARLEY, BERT FRENCHServices are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 16, 2006 at Midway Assembly of God for Bert Marley, age 70, of Roswell, who passed away October 14, 2006 at his residence. Pastor Danny Sons will officiate. Interment will be at South Park Cemetery.

Bert was born on November 29, 1935 in Roswell, New Mexico to William Thelbert French and Inez Marley French. He is preceded in death by both parents.

On December 18, 1955 Bert married Kathy Ray in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife Kathy Marley of the family home.

Other survivors are 1 son: Charles Marley and his wife Dawn of Roswell, New Mexico; 4 daughters: Melinda Jackson and her husband John of Lake Arthur, NM., Laura Hansen and her husband John of Austin, TX., Louanna Torres of Austin, TX., Sandra Caughlin and her husband Tim of Tonkawa, OK.; Grandchildren: Vicki, Sami and Benton Marley, Christi, Matthew and Julia Jackson, Garrett and Marcus Hansen, Shannon and Kelly Torres, Michael, Danny, and Randy Caughlin; 1 brother: Dr. John French; 2 sisters: Suzanne Duggan and Linda Graham.

Bert was the 4th generation of Pecos Valley ranchers and farmers. Inez Marley French, his mother passed away 10 days after Berts birth. He was adopted and raised by his grandparents Cort and May Corn Marley, pioneer ranchers of the Pecos Valley. Bert loved farming and farm auctions. He had to have one of everything. He was a member of NM Cattle Growers, Farm Bureau and Elks. He graduated Roswell High School in 1954 and attended NMSU when it was NM AM. He was honest to the core, if he gave you his word, he would always follow through. He loved his family most of all and will be deeply missed by all.

Pallbearers will be: John Jackson, Bill Marley, Weldon Wagner, Jim Hankins, Tim Caughlin, David Corn, Bernarr Treat. Honorary Pallbears will be: Luther Pareo, Dean Sons, Dr. Peterson, Mathew Jackson, Tony Treat, Jack Studdard, Pete Cassen.
