PHELPS, BETSY BROWNMemorial services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 15, 2007 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Betsy Brown Phelps, age 76, of Roswell, who passed away October 10, 2007 at a local nursing home. Rev. Archie Echols of First United Methodist Church will officiate

Betsy was born May 10, 1931 in Roswell to Roscoe and Mary Olive Brown. They both have preceded her in death. Betsy and Ray Phelps were married December 28, 1986, in Roswell. Ray also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter: Sharon H. Fuller and her husband Wayne of Plano, Texas; a son: Jay Hollifield and his wife Carrie as well as two granddaughters, Sarah and Katy Hollifield all of Roswell; a sister: Helen Marie Oleyar and husband John and their two children, Kim and Jr. of Portland, Oregon area. She is also survived by her first husband, Perry Hollifield, of Redmond, Washington, the father of her two children.

Betsys grandparents homesteaded in the Roswell area in 1905. Her father and his brother, Byron Brown, founded Brown Brothers Ranch where Betsy and her sister were raised. She was very proud of her heritage as well as the history of her family and dearly loved the ranch.

Betsy was a life time member of First United Methodist Church in Roswell. She was extremely proud of her service as a Pink Lady at ENNMC. She loved to square dance, loved animals and was a talented ceramics artist. Besty was also an accomplished seamstress. Most of all, she was a delightful woman with many skills and a wonderful sense of humor.
