WITT, BETTIE MAURINE Graveside services are scheduled for 9:00 a.m., July 20, 2011 at South Park Cemetery for Bettie Maurine Witt, age 92, of Roswell, who was called home to the Lord on July 6, 2011. Pastor Richard Smith will officiate.
Bettie was born on September 7, 1919 in Springfield, MO to John Clyde and Molly Hermann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Witt, her parents, as well as her sisters, Elizabeth Grace Speer, Mary Anne Mullins, Juanita Naomi, and a brother John Hermann.
She is survived by her nieces: Molly Jennings and her husband Mike of Midland, TX, Jane Jones and her husband Dan of Casper, WY, Sylvia Murphey and her husband Jeff of Joplin, MO, Sandy Witt of Roswell and Linda Johnson and her husband Don of Roswell nephews: Franklin Supercinski and his wife Becky of Longview, TX, Ronnie Supercinski and his wife Mary Kay of Hamilton, TX, and Larry Witt and his wife Verletta of Roswell.
She is also survived by her goddaughters: Gisele and Marsha Keyes and Britt Donaldson the father of two of her great nieces.
Bettie was Aunt Bettie to not just her family but many of her friends. She was the beloved Great aunt to several great nieces and nephews and greatgreat niece and nephew who survive her and one great niece, DeAnna Supercinski that has preceded her in death.
As a young woman she worked as a bookkeeper for Carl Red McFarland and Howard Graves C.P.A. She was a lifemaster duplicate bridge player and a formidable opponent at the bridge table. Aunt Bettie was a fun and loving aunt. She had such a generous spirit and touched so many lives with her love and generosity. Aunt Bettie enriched her nieces lives immeasurably and her door was always open to those who needed someone to talk, laugh or cry with. There was always room for one more in her heart and in her home.
