Betty Hanagan

HANAGAN, BETTY PICKENS--A memorial service for Betty Pickens Hanagan, 77, will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Roswell, NM.

Betty passed away peacefully in her home on November 9, 2008 after a two year battle with cancer. She was born on March 17, 1931 to Edgar and Annie Mae Pickens in DeKalb, Texas. She married Hugh Hanagan, her husband of 54 years, on February 12, 1954 in Midland, Texas.

Betty is survived by Hugh, Sisters Helen Hanley of Benton, Arkansas and Francis Kennington of Malvern, Arkansas, Son Tim and companion Gail Aalund of Durango, Colorado, Son Brian of Dallas, Texas , and son Mike and his wife Danette of Roswell, Grandsons Hondo and his wife Dedi, Craig and his wife Ali, and granddaughter Megan, Great granddaughters Kinslee and Breleigh and another soon to be born granddaughter, along with 29 nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Billy, Sister June and Brother Edgar.

Hugh and the boys would especially like to thank all of the ladies that provided numerous meals and prayers for Betty over the last two years as well as all of the staff and nurses at the cancer clinic and Dr.s Badine and Dayao.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Treatment Center or the Assurance Home.
