Betty Lou Zedlitz, 95, passed away at home on January 3, 2025, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was the first of three children. Betty grew up on a ranch in Caprock, New Mexico and Roswell, New Mexico. She also lived in Willow, Alaska for 24 years, returning to Roswell in 2017.
Betty graduated from Roswell High School in 1947. She worked in the office of several businesses in Roswell. She married J. W. Zedlitz on March 27, 1959. They were married for 59 years until he passed away in 2018.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Florence Chumley, and her brother Howard Chumley and his wife Norma. She is survived by her brother Joe and his wife BJ, son Darvin Crone, and her Daughter Karen Bentz and her husband Ed. Betty is also survived by her grandchildren, Bryan Stevens, DeAndra and Jimmy Salazar as well as her great grandsons Izaiah, Elija, and Noah.
Betty was a devoted and loved daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
A graveside service will be held at South Park Cemetery on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 am South Park Cemetery.
