MARTIN, BIANCIA Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 19, 2010 at South Park Cemetery for Biancia G. Martin who died Monday, March 15, 2010 at her home. The Rev. Robert Hall of Calvary Fellowship of Rio Rancho will officiate.
Biancia was born June 13, 1920 at her familys home in Roswell to Bernard O. and Willie Lee Greenwade, who preceded her in death. She lived in Roswell all her life, except when attending college at Colorado Womens College now the University of Denver and while her husband attended college in Silver City in the days just following World War II. She married her childhood sweetheart, Charles M. Martin, Jr. on September 12, 1945 and made a home and a life with him. He passed away on January 1, 2009. Biancia was Charless helpmate and partner in all his business ventures, from the early days as a cotton broker, through his retirement business, M M Coin Hobbies. She was active in the community, a member of the Womens Club and the Morning Garden Club, the Roswell Symphony, and a founding member and pastpresident of the Roswell Assistance League now Community League. She was a mother to her son and his wife, and a second mother to all her nieces and nephews, who relied on her for sound advice and were never disappointed. The joy of her life was her grandson, Charles.
Her brother, Bernard O. Greenwade,Jr. and sister, Mary Greenwade Hall preceded her in death, as did her beloved Aunt Janie, Byrta Rose Maxey Eastham.
Survivors include her son, Charles M. Martin III and his wife Charmaine, of Roswell her grandson, Charles M. Martin IV of New Orleans sistersinlaw Pat Greenwade of Roswell and Fran Mitten of Cape Cod, brotherinlaw Bill Martin of Costa Mesa, California numerous much loved cousins, nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews and a brandnew greatgreat nephew, Henry Robert Norris of Dexter.
The family especially wishes to thank Dr. Daniel Raes for his extraordinary care Gladys Warner, for being a rock for both Charles and Biancia, and the nurses and CNAs at Encompass Home Health, and Vista Care Hospice for their professional and compassionate care .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roswell Community League, the Assurance Home, The Roswell Symphony or another charity of the donors choice.
