TAYLOR, BUFORD, Services are scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2007, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, at 11:00 A. M. for Buford Taylor, age 76, of Roswell, New Mexico, who passed away January 8,2007 at his residence. Rev. Lonnie Owens of Christ Church will officiate with burial at South Park Cemetery.
Buford was born December 12, 1930 in Red Rock, Texas to Lucas and Emma Meredith Taylor. They preceded him in death.
Buford and Doris Wimberly were married May 12, 1951, in Austin, Texas, and were married for over 55 years. She survives him at the family home.
Other survivors include sons; Ronald Taylor and his wife Marie, of Roswell, Michael and his wife, Julia of Tacoma, WA and James Taylor of Roswell. He is survived by 8 Grand Children and 4 Great Grand Children. Also surviving him is his sister Netty Malmquist and her husband, Raymond of Austin, Texas.
He worked for SPS for 32 years, retiring as general foreman.
Buford was known to many as a good Samaritan, always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved to Hunt. Buford was a wonderful provider for his family and he was a good husband and father
Pallbearers will be; Danny Meech, Robert Cardona, Aubrey Dunn, Lawrence Taylor, Paul Longmire, Johnny Grogan and George Esclante. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the SPS employees and retirees.
The family request memorials be made to the Buford Taylor memorial Fund at Valley Bank of Commerce at 227 W. Second St., Roswell, New Mexico 88201
