Carlos Castro

July 9, 1945 — January 3, 2012

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, January 9, 2012, at South Park Cemetery for Carlos Castro, age 66, of Roswell and recently relocated to Clovis, who passed away January 3, 2012, in Clovis. Rev. Richard Smith of the Highland Baptist Church will conduct the service.

Carlos was born July 9, 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Joe and Dora Smith Castro. Both parents preceded him in death as well as his wife LaVerne and a brother, Jim Henderson.

He is survived by two sons: Larry Castro of Dexter, NM and Bobby Castro of Roswell, NM. He is also survived by two daughters: Dora DeGroot of Roswell and Lora Braddock of Clovis, NM and eleven grandchildren: Danielle Castro, Dominic Castro, Lucas Castro, Levi Braddock, Cheyenne Braddock, Jamie Leaton, Steven Leaton, Alyssa DeGroot, Thomas DeGroot, Pete Mitchell DeGroot, and Camryn Castro brother and sisters: Jeannie Henderson, Rose Conner, Joann Keating, and Larry Henderson.

For many years, Carlos enjoyed coffee with his friends at Scottys. He never met a stranger and was a great friend to many. Carlos believed there was never a bad day for fishing. He enjoyed coaching his boys in baseball and always supported his kids and grandkids in everything they did. His favorite possession was the trophy case where he kept memories of his childrens accomplishments. He loved LaVerne dearly and we find peace in knowing he has been reunited with her.
