Carroll Johnson Curry was born in Portales, NM on November 20, 1938 to Homer Carroll Johnson and Christine Lovorn Johnson. Carroll’s father was killed serving our country during World War II in Luzon in May of 1945 and her mother passed away after living many years in Santa Fe and Portales. Carroll was the oldest of seven children. She is survived by her siblings, Tom Johnson, Don Bilberry, Monty Bilberry, Ted Bilberry and Debra Mayhon. She was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Padilla.
On October 23, 1979, Carroll married James M. Curry in Roswell, NM. After living in Clayton, NM and Wichita Falls, TX, Carroll and Jim returned to Roswell where they enjoyed retirement closer to their children. Jim continues to reside in Roswell.
Carroll is also survived by sons, Bill Heineken and his wife Debbie of Capitan, NM; Steve Green and his wife Cynthia of Roswell, NM; Jay Hill and his wife Stephanie of Capitan, NM.
Carroll loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed watching them through many activities. Carroll’s grandchildren are Tawnya Heineken-Gallardo; Garrett Green, Emily Dlugosh; Denise Green and Caden Hill. Her Great Grandchildren are Benjamin Heineken-Gallardo; Jace Dlugosh; Addison Dlugosh and Connor Dlugosh.
Carroll was preceded in death by one son, Terry Hill and one grandson, Danzen Hill.
Carroll lived her life enjoying and pursuing the love of art in all forms and loved sharing her art with her family.
