Carroll Teague

TEAGUE, CARROLL M.Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Bethel Baptist Church for Carroll M. Teague, age 71, of Roswell who passed away December 30, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Bill Jones will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Carroll was born March 30, 1930 in Artesia, New Mexico to Robert and Bertha Teague. His father Robert Carl Teague has preceded him in death.

On November 24, 1955 Carroll married Mary Fay Qualls in Roswell. She survives him at the family home.

Carroll is survived by daughters: Deborah Brewer and her husband Doug, Tracey Wilson and her companion Bryan Evans; mother: Bertha Teague; grandchildren: Will Brewer and his wife Amber, Derek Brewer and his wife Kristie, Cory Wilson and Wade Wilson; great grandchildren: Baylee, Brooke, Maycee, Austin, Makaylee; nephews, State Police Sergeant Chris Clements and his wife Tammy, Las Cruces City Sergeant Kerry Clements and his wife Claudia; niece: Kelly Mysza and her husband Jim; Sisters: Lois Clements and her husband Ted, Reta Wright and her husband Tommy.

Carroll was a Police Officer for the City of Roswell from August 1958 to May of 1991.

He began as a dispatcher and worked his way up the ranks to police sergeant, lieutenant, captain, deputy police chief and finally chief of police. Later he became the captain of special services, personnel director, director of special services and public safety director. As public safety director, he supervised the code enforcement branch of city government, which upholds public ordinances for health and safety.

Carroll was President of the South Plains Eastern New Mexico Peace Officers Association from 1978 to 1979 and President of New Mexico Sheriffs and Police Association from October 1980 to 1981.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Hughes, Chuck Berry, Jerry Brown, Jim Dunn, Gene Wilson, Bud Hollis and All Past and Present Law Enforcement Officers.
