Charles Caughorn

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Charles Earnest Caughorn, age 69, who passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Pastor Troy Grant of Berrendo Baptist Church will be officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard. Cremation will follow services.

Charles was born November 9, 1947 to Earnest Vic Caughorn and Vernie Blanch Caughorn in Lone Mountain, Tennessee. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, earning a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Star and 2 Bronze Stars, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, an Army Commendation Medal (Meritorious Service), a Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Bonze Star Medal with "V" Devices with the First Oak Leaf Cluster, a Good Conduct Medal and a Sharpshooter (M-14 Rifle) Medal. His last overseas service was in Korea. Charles married the love of his life, Marilyn Relon Caughorn March 6, 1998 in Philippines.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, Claude Caughorn.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn Caughorn and their faithful companions Boogie, Snippy and Snappy of the home; brothers, Windle Whitehead and Leslie Caughorn, of Harrogate, TN; Larry Caughorn and wife Glenna of Knoxville, TN; sister, Pansy Hariston of New Tazewell, TN; children, Scarlett and Jennifer of New Tazewell, TN, and many relatives and friends.
