CHAVEZ, CHARLES JOSEPH Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Charles Joseph Chavez, age 49, of Ruidoso who passed away November 22, 2009 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Pastor Al and Marty Lane of Christ Church in The Downs will officiate with interment to follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park.

Viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009.

Charles was born October 6, 1960 to Esequiel and Sarah Chavez. His father has preceded him in death as well as a sister Lorine Chavez.

Charles married Valerie Sanchez on December 1, 2000 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She survives him at the family home.

Charles is survived by two daughters: Andrea Cortez and her husband Tony of Las Cruces, and Irene Chavez of Roswell. Brothers: Walter Roy Chavez of Arabella, Esequiel Chavez and his wife Petra of Roswell, Seferino Chavez and his wife Gloria of Roswell, and Alfred Chavez of Roswell; sisters: Nadine Chavez and her husband Jose of Denver, CO, Jane Campos and her husband Tito of Roswell, Beatrice Dominguez and her husband Ever of Denver, CO, Corine Avent and her husband Clarence of Roswell and Estella Tarin and her husband Raul of Dexter; four grandchildren: Lydia, Anna, Tony and Marcos.

Charles was a landscaper.

Pallbearers will be Tito Campos, Gabriel Vigil, Pete Tarin, Chuck Gutierrez, Nathan Vigil, Sidney Trujillo, Dewey Keller,Toby Sanchez and Phillip Navarette.
