Christine Hughes

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the 7th Day Adventist Church, corner of Jaffa and South Union for Christine Hughes, age 90, of Roswell who passed away on August 12, 2013. Pastor Ken Davis will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Christine was born July 7, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to Hugh Christopher Ranft and Annie Delia Bailey Ranft. They have preceded her in death as well as her first husband, Richard Allen Ranft, a son, Philip Allen Ranft, two brothers, three sisters and a grandchild, Jerri Price.

Christine married Lowell B. Hughes on November 15, 1980 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. He survives her at the family home.

She is also survived by a son: Steve Ranft and his wife Bonnie of Roswell two sisters: Peggy Marie Hollon of Texas and Dorothy Jean Moore of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

Christine worked as a Loan Closer at Security National Bank. After her marriage to Lowell she retired from the bank and became the bookkeeper for Hughes Electric Motor Co. She was a member of the American Business Womans Association.

Christine was one of the founding members of the 7th Day Adventist Church. She was a devout Christian, devoted to her beliefs and was a follower.

On resurrection day when Jesus comes she will be on the front row in Heaven.
