Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at South Park Cemetery for Clara Foster, age 101, of Lubbock, formerly of Roswell who passed away April 18, 2013. Pastor Vern Edmondson will officiate.
Clara was born July 15, 1911 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Webb and Lena Vloedman. They have preceded her in death.
Clara married Wesley Milton Bud Foster on November 11, 1939 in Roswell, New Mexico. She and Bud shared over 52 years of marriage prior to his death in 1992.
Clara is survived by one son: James Webb Foster and his wife Chera one daughter: Linda Foster King and her husband Jim six grandchildren: Wesley Foster and his wife Marlyna, James Foster and his wife Jennifer, Jana Cor and her husband Bill, Janece Adamy and her husband Matt, Alan Jenkins and his wife Lori, Kimberly Wofford and her husband Robert Nineteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Clara went to college for two years at South West College in Winfield, Kansas. She moved to Roswell in 1938. She was a member and very active in Womens Clubs of America and the PEO Chapter B, she joined in 1944 and received her 50 year pin. She was also a charter member of the Story League. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Church Guild and Christian Womens Fellowship. She was a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed participating in various organizations and was an involved parent and loving wife. She enjoyed reading, music, traveling and being a friend. Clara was a cherished member of her family, and had a gift for bringing joy and laughter. Her bright beautiful blue eyes, quick wit, one of a kind laugh, and amazing strength are just a few of the things that will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
