SPRINKLE, CLARA E. -- Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee,Oklahoma, officiated by Pastor David Nash of 2nd Baptist Church of Okmulgee. Clara E. Hudson Sprinkle, age 99, of Roswell, who passed away June 4, 2009 at her home. BRBRClara was born August 8, 1909 in Leslie, Arkansas to U. S. Cummings and Lavina Daniels Cummings. Both parents preceded her in death, along with brothers, Page, Cummings, Ross Cummings and Dwight Cummings, sisters, Mina Snelson, Marie Parker, Lea Jeffers and Daphna Jones.BRBRShe married Olly E. Hudson in 1926 and he died in 1961 in Lovington, NM. Clara married Paul McDonald in 1967 who died in 1969 in Lovington. She married Reagin. E. Sprinkle on Dec. 4, 1982 in Roswell. He passed away in 2005.BRBRSurvivors include a son; Gary E.Hudson and his wife Sandra of Ozark, Arkansas, 2 daughters; Norma Jean Stonecipher and Jane McLemee both of Roswell; two stepsons: Robert E. McDonald and wife Joann of Plano, TX and Paul Jr. Buzz McDonald and wife Shirley of Abilene, TX. Also surviving is one brother; Lewis Cummings and his wife Rosalee of Sherwood, Arkansas, one sister, Mae Baucum of Clinton, Mississippi sister-in-law Juanita Cummings of Sherwood, AR. Alos surviving are 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.BRBRClara was a devoted Christian who loved to work with children and did so for many years in Lovington and other places she lived. She had been a very active member of Bethel Baptist church in Roswell since her 1970s. She loved to sing and was in church choirs for many years wherever she was a member and was able. She was faithful to take her children and grandchildren to church and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by both family and friends.

In leiu of flowers the family asked contributions to be made to the Baptist Childrens Home, Bx 629, Portales, NM 88130 or the Boys and Girls Ranch of NM, P.O. Box 9, Belen, NM 87002-9901

The family wishes to thank Barbara Whitten of Covenant, Dr. El Sayah, oncology at Eastern NM Medical Center, Dr. Henry, Randy McGuire of the Wound Clinic and the nurses at each place, Reba Stroble of Advance Home Health and all the Vista Care Hospice personnel who helped us all so much. We appreciate all who helped with her care the last several years. You have been a great comfort to us who cared so deeply for her.
