Clittice Parker

A funeral service is scheduled for 9:00 A.M., on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Mt .Gilead Baptist Church for Clittice Veora Green Parker, age 98, of Roswell who passed away on November 24, 2013. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Rev. Artis Allen will officiate.

Clittice was born on November 6, 1915 in Brazos County, Texas to Aaron and Pinkey Green, the tenth child in a family of 13, who have all preceded her in death.

Moving to Roswell in February of 1943, she and her first husband Ruben Taylor married on April 15, 1933. He passed away on November 3, 1975. She received her education from Correspondence School of Chicago, Illinois and Bryan, Texas. She took her degrees in Seattle, Washington. She married Woodrow T. Parker on April 4, 1977.

She had no children but she loved to help children. She took care of her step great grandchild, Desiree Williams, for seven years. She filled her life with her church work. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, and served her church family as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk, Deaconess President of her church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, District Past President, a member of the National Baptist Convention, and wherever else she was needed. Clittus served as Treasurer of the Roswell NAACP. She was the first President of the Enchanted Ladys Club, and was very active helping within the community.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Woodrow T. Parker of Roswell Lovely great granddaughter, Desiree K. Williams, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren two stepdaughters: Esther R. Kennedy and husband Jerry of Blue Spring, Missouri, Margaret Ann Parker of Albuquerque, New Mexico one stepson: Joseph Parker and wife Ashley of Los Angeles, California a host of nieces and nephews, including Ludella Andrews and husband Roy of Dallas, Texas along with her church family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Richard Hayes, Billy Parker, Willie Stewart, Eddie Parker, Jimmy Williams, and Billy Parker Jr.
