BURNETT, CLYDE K. JR Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2008 at First United Methodist Church for Clyde K. Burnett Jr., age 84, of Roswell, who passed away September 10, 2008. Rev. Stephanie Harmon with First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Clyde was born May 6, 1924 in Jenkens, NM to Clyde Burnett, Sr. and Myrtle Burnett-Coffey. They both have preceded him in death as well as his step-father, Glenn Coffey and sister Arbie Dean
Clyde married Tomellen Tommie Terry on January 1, 1950 in Artesia, NM. She survives him at the family home.
Clyde is survived by Son: Mike Burnett and his wife Kathryn of Alexandria, VA; daughter: Abbie Burnett of Farmington, NM; half brother: Benny Burnett of Carlsbad, NM; Sisters: Mildred Stroade of San Angelo, TX, and LaVona Chamberlin and her husband Al of Hawaii; grandchildren: Joseph Burnett and his wife Brittany and Kevin Burnett and his wife Courtney; Great Grandchildren: Jack Burnett, Tess Burnett and Chase Burnett; Nieces: Sherry Dean, Nancy Lents, Carolyn Stroade, Roxane Cook and Nora Chamberlin; Nephews: Gary Chamberlin and Guy Chamberlin.
Clyde was a supervisor for Southwestern Public Services for 39 years after retiring he worked for CVE in Artesia for 15 years as a consultant. Clyde was a Pilot in the United State Air Force. Clyde was a member of the First United Methodist Church, B.P.O. E. Elks Lodge 969, Roswell Masonic Lodge 18 and the Knights Templer. Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling with his family and friends. They made many wonderful friends in their travels.
