Dahlia Geoffrion

GEOFFRION, DAHLIAA Rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 7:00 P.M., June 3, 2008 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Dahlia Leona Geoffrion, age 94, of Roswell, who passed away May 30, 2008. The Service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peters Catholic Church, with Deacon Howard officiating, interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Dahlia was born May 21, 1914 in Canncito, New Mexico, to Frank Herrera and Leona Ramirez. They have preceded her in death. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Las Vegas, NM, the class of 1937.

Dahlia married Raymond Geoffrion on January 17, 1938 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He also has preceded her in death. They celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Dahlia is survived by a brother Paul Herrera and a sister Louise Salazar of Commerce City, CO; an only daughter: Elizabeth Roberts and her husband Calvin of Roswell; grandchildren: Pete Owens and his wife Tammi of St. Clair, MI, Lance Derbonn and his wife Beverly of San Antonio, TX, Deanne Davis and her husband Steve of Madison, CT and Tim Roberts and his wife Maritza of Roswell; great grandchildren: Candi Owens, Cherie Hall, Richard Owens, Gabrielle Derbonn, Elyssa Davis, Gillian Davis and Wyatt Davis, Jr.; great great grandson: Ashtin Hall. Dahlia also leaves behind several cousins, whom she grew up with and loved as brothers and sisters, also many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

Besides a homemaker, Dahlia was a dental assistant for Dr. OBierne of El Paso, TX for several years. Upon moving to Lubbock, TX in 1968, she operated a day care in her home for several years. She was a Roswell resident for 12 years. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church.

She loved her Lord, she loved her family and she loved flowers.

Pallbearers will be Tim Roberts, Lance Derbonn, Steve Davis, Mike Branch, Matt Miles and Darrell Crosby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Calvin Roberts, Don Adams, Ralph Meeks, Ray Farley and Jim Orozco.
