David Cooper

David J. Cooper Sr., Age 72, of Roswell, NM passed away on June 8, 2020 with his wife, Janis Cooper, at his side. David was born on July 3, 1948 to Leon David Cooper and Marion Young Cooper.

David served in the US Army for 4 years, then enlisted in the US Air Force where he received many accommodations as a member of the US Air Force Special Forces Unit and a paratrooper from 1974 to 1992. David served as a Weapon Combat Specialist as well. He served our country with great love and pride. His moto was “The land of the free because of the brave.” David was one of the brave.

David is survived by his wife, Janis Cooper, a daughter Patty Hernandes of Gainesville, MN, a son, David Cooper II, from Encino, NM, and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Venable.
