MCFARLAND, DAVID M. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for David M. McFarland, age 83, of Roswell, who passed away on February 19, 2009.

David was born July 27, 1925 in Capitan, N.M. to Dan and Vina McFarland. They both have preceded him in death.

David married Jessie McCabe on May 1, 1962 in Los Alamos, N.M. She survives him at the family home.

David served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army in the 11th Airborne Division. He was a cowboy extraordinaire and greatly loved his family and friends. He was a member of the Roswell Church of Christ for many years.

David is survived by three sons: Boyce McFarland and his wife Barbara of Nogal, NM, Warnock McFarland and his wife Debbie of Clovis, CA, Clarence McFarland and his wife Etta of Olive Branch, MS, and a Special Son: Chris Yparrea and his wife Connie of Capitan, NM; two daughters: Joy Garner and her husband Rick of Nogal, NM, and Jacque McFarland of Roswell; two sisters: Lena Hobbs of Albuquerque, NM, and Mozelle Edgar of Elizabethton, TN; ten grandchildren: Dominic Figiel, Lisa Forster, David, Jeff, Kevin, and Brian McFarland, and Ashlee, Shane, Corey, and Rees Garner; two great grandchildren: Rayanna Forster and Cyrus Figiel.
