Dennis Dirksen

Dennis Dirksen, beloved son, loving father and dedicated friend went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2008.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2008 at Grace Community Church. Rev. Richard Smith of Highland Baptist Church will conduct the service in celebration of his life.

Dennis was born April 25, 1952 in Hartley, Iowa to Jake and Tillie Dirksen. His father and nephew Jason Dirksen preceded him in death. His mother, Tillie, survives him in Artesia, California.

Further survivors include his son, Josh Dirksen of Tucson, AZ, and his daughters; Alison Dirksen of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Courtney Dirksen of Laguna Beach, CA. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Rick Dirksen and his wife Theo of Corona, CA, Jay Dirksen and his wife Barb of Jerome, ID; also his sister Bette Johnson and her husband Ron of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

His best friends, Jerry Vander Dussen of Roswell and Dennis Schliney Rysdam of Gardnerville, NV, also survive him.

His first priority was always family and friends. He spent most of his life in construction and in his spare time you could find him golfing or hunting with those he loved.

He will be remembered for his integrity, open heart; love of life, family and not least of all his sense of humor. He always spoke about how he couldnt wait to meet his Lord and trusted in His perfect will and timing.

While we know he is celebrating and praising in Heaven, for us it was too soon. He will be loved and missed forever.

A viewing will be held at La Grone Funeral Chapel on Thursday July 10th from 11am to 7pm.
