DYER, DONALD - Donald Dyer passed away on August 7, 2018 at the age of 80, in Roswell, NM. Donald was born in Ada, OK on September 17, 1937 to his parents, Vernon Dyer and Anna Mae Hobbs.

Donald was a retired Registered Nurse, he finished high school in 1955 and enlisted in the Navy. In 1956, Donald married the love of his life, Sharron. In 1971 as a Chief Petty Officer, he retired from the Naval Air Station in Alameda, CA and was aboard the USS Hancock as an Aviation Electrician's Mate. Donald then made the decision to move to Roswell, NM, where he attended NMU- Roswell and earned his Nursing Degree and started his career at St. Mary's Hospital- Roswell for a short time, Donald then packed up and moved to Reno to become a Cardiac care specialist through the Stanford University of California, was the unit manager in the in Washoe Medical Center. After returning from Odessa, TX, Donald retired in 2003 from ENMMC and became the caregiver for his wife, Sharron.

Donald had a big heart in caring for so many during his life, and in his own time, he enjoyed cooking and baking for family, he relaxed as he gardened, woodworked, traveled and took pride with the photos he took and developed in his darkroom. Donald was a big fan of the 49'ers and San Francisco Giants. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharron L. Dyer; daughter, Ann Dyer; and son, Mark Dyer. He is survived by son, Clark Dyer of Arizona; daughters, Stephanie Dyer (Robert Danley) of California; Samantha Dyer- Hardwick (T.J.) of Odessa; and Theresa Dyer of Odesa; and brother, Vernon Dyer; sister, Linda Dyer-Newton (Lee); nephew, Chauncey Todd Dyer; great grandsons, Nicholas Hardwick, Carmon Hardwick, and granddaughter, Sahyra Conrad.
