    Our dearly beloved Don M. Fedric entered the Gates of Heaven January 10, 2024, in Roswell, New Mexico. Don was born April 10,1937 in Clovis, New Mexico, as the only child of Bessie and G.O. Fedric. Don graduated from high school in Lovington, New Mexico in 1955. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Economics in 1959. While at UNM he was Freshman Class President, Sophomore Class Vice President, Student Body Vice President, and Student Body President. Following his service as an Officer in the US Army, Don attended Law School at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska where he received a Juris Doctorate Law Degree in 1965. While at Creighton, Don was Student Bar Association President; Won the top student prize in Commercial Law; Was one of the two-member National Moot Court Team representing Creighton; And graduated 5th in his class. Don started his practice of Oil and Gas Law in 1965 with George H. Hunker Jr. in Roswell, NM. During his many years of Oil and Gas Legal Practice he was Chaves County Bar Association President; A member of the New Mexico Landman’s Association; A member of IPAA; An instructor and Author in several Bar Association and Landman seminars; A Board Certified Specialist in Oil and Gas Law; An expert witness in Oil and Gas Law in numerous legal cases; A longtime Chairman of the State Bar Association Specialization Committee for Oil and Gas Certification; Named, almost from inception, in the publication “Best Lawyers in America” for Oil and Gas Law; To the publication ”Southwest Super Lawyers”; And as a Preeminent rated Lawyer in the Lexis Nexus ® Martindale- Hubell Peer Review. Don served as a Director on the Regional Board of Directors for the Chaves County Mental Health Council; on the Board for The United Way; A member of the Committee that created the Junior College Wool Bowl Event; A member of the Board for the University of New Mexico Alumni Association in 2 different decades; And an Usher and Greeter for many years at Christ’s Church in Roswell, where he loved his church family.

    Don and Deborah (Debbie) were married in 1981. They enjoyed traveling and Don Particularly loved cruising. They saw and visited much of the world. Don and Debbie were certified scuba divers, golfers, and snow skiers. Don was a so-so golfer, (Debbie said that) and a wonderful Snow Skier, (Don said that). Don and Debbie skied in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland; Plus, numerous areas in the Western U.S. Don thought Colorado skiing was the best with a particular preference for Telluride. He regretfully retired from skiing at the age of 78, when his knees refused to cooperate with his skiing desires.

    Don is survived by his loving Wife, Debbie of Roswell, NM; By his friend Tara N. Fedric, mother of his three children; His Son Ryder and wife Lynna of Heath, Texas; His Daughter Shauna Clemons and husband George of Broomfield, Colorado; And 6 Grandchildren,

 (Joey Fedric, Ryan Fedric, Corey Nance, Thomas Nance, Dylan Clemons; and Haley Fedric)

 

    Don is preceded in death by his parents; And his son Rad Fedric.

 

     The family wishes to thank Dr. Hamid Feroze and his Staff.

 A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Christ’s Church.
