Donna Huebner

Huebner, Donna Jeanne - Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday October 26, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Donna Jeanne Huebner, age 81 of Roswell, NM who went to her heavenly home on October 19, 2019 at Casa Maria Nursing Home in Roswell NM. The Rev, Brian Flamme of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Roswell will conduct the service. Interment will be at Carlsbad Cemetery next to her beloved husbands body awaiting the resurrection.

Donna was born September 10, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa to Earl W. Lamborn and Dorothy B. Lamborn. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo Iowa on October 13, 1955.

Donna married the love of her life, Harold William Huebner at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo Iowa on August 25, 1956. After 31 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on March 11, 1992.

After Living in Iowa, she and Harold moved to Roswell where he was stationed at Walker Air Force Base. She loved being a wife and mother raising her four children and being a homemaker. After a brief move to Artesia, the family moved to Carlsbad, N.M. While in Carlsbad she worked several jobs including managing a print shop. Her last job in Carlsbad was working as a secretary at the Waste Isolation Pilot Project.

She volunteered at Immanuel Lutheran in Carlsbad typing and copying Church Bulletins on a mimeograph machine. She was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, sang in the church Choir and was a youth counselor with Harold.

After the death of her husband, she moved back to Roswell to be near her family. She sang in the Choir, attended Bible Study regularly as well as other church events at Immanuel, Roswell. She loved to crochet, sew, do ceramics, upholstery and dabbled in knitting. She was also a member of Senior Circle and Stitching club.

Her favorite pastime was attending her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting and school events, tennis being her favorite. She rarely missed any events involving her family.

She had a flair for wearing many styles and colors of hats and was seldom seen without one.

She is survived by her daughter: Cindy Smith of Albuquerque; sons: Jim Huebner and wife C.J. of Roswell, Steve Huebner and wife Stacy of Roswell, and Andy Huebner. Thirteen grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Nathan Smith, Luke Huebner, Martin Huebner, Paul Huebner, Austin Huebner, James Huebner and Ian Brumana. Honorary Pallbearers will be great- grandsons: Alex Lara, Nicolas Lara, Nathan Lara.
