She also served as a judge in the State of NM to judge Iris shows. She was a holder of many championship ribbons in her Iris and floral presentations.

Dorothy and her family moved to Roswell, NM in 1957. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Roswell where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Dorothy was also a Welcome Wagon greeter for the Chamber of Commerce as well as an Eastern Star.
