MCDERMAN, DOROTHY A memorial services is to be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at First Church of the Nazarene, 501 N. Sycamore, at 11:00 a.m. Dorothy McDerman was born January 1, 1924 to Gid and Kate Cunningham in Abilene, TX. She went to her Heavenly Father on November 24, 2009.

Dorothy was preceded in death by both parents Gid and Kate Cunningham, as well as all of her nine sib lings Marion, Luke, Joe, Iva, Eva, Totsy, Lois, Gladys, and Cleo Cunningham. Also preceded in death was her loving husband Ondee McDerman

Dorothy is survived by two sons: Tommy and John McDerman, and one granddaughter Larissa Sanchez, and her husband Ruben. Dorothy also leaves behind her dear friend Shirleene Forbau and her husband Alden and a ex-daughter in law Linda Davis of Artesia, NM.

Dorothy attended the First Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years. She loved playing dominos, chatting on the phone with friends and family, tending to her garden, going for walks, shopping, and making her famous chocolate pies. She and Ondee held and attended many gatherings and loved the fellowship of their dear friends and family. Dorothy was a cafeteria server for many years for the RISD and served at Missouri Avenue Elementary School. Dorothy lived a hard life in her childhood and teenage years, but with the help of her husband Ondee and the faith and guidance from the Lord, she later rejoiced in her blessings and enjoyed life to the fullest. Dorothy Nanny was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.
