HORTON, EDWARD FRANK RONALD C. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the LaGrone Funeral Chapel at 900 South Main, Roswell, N.M.
Edward Frank Horton, 74, of Houston, Texas died Saturday, May 17, 2014 after a brief illness.
Frank was born on February 15, 1940 in Huntingdon, PA to Edward and Louise Horton who proceeded him in death. He moved to Roswell, NM in 1957 and graduated from Roswell High School in 1958. Frank served three years in the U.S. Army and was a marksman on a rifle team where he received many awards. He attended NMSU in Las Cruces, NM and earned his Bachelor of Science degree I Mechanical Engineering in 1969.
Frank married Marilyn Ginger Jones on September 11, 1976. He is survived by Ginger, his daughter Laura Fox and Rob Jones, as well as three grandchildren, Anastasia and Robbie Jones and Courtney Fox all of Houston. He is survived by his sister, Patty Smith and her husband, Bod Smith of Amarillo, TX. He is also survived by his nephews, Marcus and Darren Smith.
Frank moved to Houston after college to work for the Houston Lighting Power Company. He and his brother opened Hortons Little Shop which he operated until his retirement. He was active in the Houston Livestock Show Rodeo where he served on the Corral Club Committee and achieved the honor of Lifetime Committeeman. He was one of the founding members of the Old Spring Branch Civic Club, serving as President, Vice President and Block Captain.
Ronald C. Horton, 70, of Houston, Texas died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 after a brief illness.
Ron was born on August 4, 1943 in Blair County, PA to Edward and Louise Horton who preceded him in death. He moved to Roswell, NM in 1957 and graduated from Roswell High School in 1961. Ron moved to Clovis in November 1964 and attended a Manpower Training Development Program in Auto Mechanics. He lived and worked in Clovis for Bender Cadillac until 1969 when he moved to Houston with his brother and coowned Hortons Little Shop with Frank. He sold his interest in the Shop to Frank and opened R.C.s Automotive in 1989 which he sold in 2006 and retired due to poor health.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Frank. He is survived by his sister, Patty Smith and her husband, Bob Smith, and three nephews, Darren and Marcus Smith, Robbie Jones and a niece, Laura Horton Fox.
Their family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials are made to their favorite charity.
