A Military Memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Friday, June 25, 2010 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Edward Eddie Reames, age 86 who passed away June 15, 2010 at the Eastern new Mexico Medical Center.
Eddie was born May 3, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio to Carl and Ozilla Momie O Davenport Witt. Carl passed away in El Paso, Texas when Eddie was five years old. His mother remarried Harris Daddy Del Reames who later adopted Eddie per Eddies request.
Eddie was very proud of his Military record. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, assigned to the ship Enterprise that went to Australia after the Japaneses attack. After his tour in the Navy, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Roswell Army Airfield Walker Air Force Base for several years. He became a Senior Master Sergeant and was a Line Chief. After Walker closed he was at several bases until he was stationed at Minot, North Dakota. He received an honorable medical discharge with over 29 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean War, which he received many medals. Eddie was of the Episcopal Faith.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Cassie Lee Reames, Marie Ashcraft, brother inlaw W.R. Ashcraft and son inlaw, Mack Boyd Titus.
Survivors include two daughters: Pamela Kay Brown, Sandra Jo Titus and their mother E. Gene Spuds Reames four grandchildren Scott Edward and Jamie Ann Brown, Kelly Marie and Scott Stotlar, Jamie Leigh Baker and Tiffany Kay Titus. Three great grandchildren: Kendall Marie Stotlar, Addison Leigh Baker and James Hunt Brown.
Other survivors include his sister Claudia Reames and family, H.W. Ashcraft and family, Ollia May Snowden and family, the late W.R. Ashcraft and family. Edie had lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Goddaughter: Brig Dunaway and a special friend, Patty Sirianni, also survive him.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Polio Foundation through the Jinglebob Telephone Pioneers,900 4100 N. Atkinson in memory of Marie Ashcraft who was so special to Eddie.
