Eleanor Dunham

DUNHAM, ELEANOR JANE LANNIE Graveside services are scheduled at South Park Cemetery at 2 pm, Monday, December 19, 2011 for Eleanor Jane Lannie Dunham who died December 16, at her home.
Lannie was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 29, 1923 to Owen F. and Gerry Gay Uridge who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Owen F. Uridge Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Colonel US Army retired Jack V. Dunham of the family home. She is also survived by her dear friends, Susan and Gil Goodman of Roswell.
Lannie attended grade school and high school in Gross Pointe, MI and then graduated with a bachelors degree in English from Dennison University Granville, OH in 1945. She married Jack in 1947 after his graduation from the U.S. Army Military Academy and spent the next 28 years as a proud Army wife. At Jacks retirement, they moved to Roswell where she immersed herself in community activities. She joined the Assistance League of Chaves County, the Morning Garden Club, the Wednesday Book Club, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association and Los Pocos Miniature Club serving as President of all of these organizations at one time or another. She was also a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood and served in a number of roles in that organization. She also enjoyed reading, needlework and miniatures.
