MCVAY FRY, ELIZABETH ANN - A private family service will be held for Elizabeth Ann McVay Fry, age 77, of Roswell, NM. Elizabeth went to be with the Lord Monday, October 19, 2020.

Elizabeth was born May 14, 1943 to Charley Mashaw and Ada Ramsey in Paris, Arkansas.

Elizabeth’s memory will be cherished by her husband, Philip Fry and his children Heather Sanford and husband, J; Leslie Butts; Tell Fry and grandchildren.  Elizabeth’s family includes Jeff McVay and wife, Debbie of Levelland, TX; Mark McVay and wife Ginger of Pampa, TX; daughter, Amy McVay Tellez and husband, Ralph Tellez of Roswell, NM. Elizabeth was blessed with grandchildren, Natalie Kirkland and husband Zach; Stephanie Gilchrist and husband, Jeremiah; Trevor McVay, and wife Chelsey; Alec Davis and wife, Samantha; Bryce Davis; and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Elizabeth is sister, Elaine Shea and husband Kevin, of Colorado; and numerous extended family members.

Preceded in death are her parents, Charley and Ada; brother, Donald and husband Charlie.

She attended St. Edwards Catholic School in Carlsbad, NM., married her beloved husband Charlie McVay who passed away April 4, 2012. She later married her High School sweetheart, Phillip “Phil” Fry on April 21, 2018.

Elizabeth was involved in many activities and organizations. She was a volunteer at Poor Clare Monastery and was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Music was her passion and she belonged to the St. Peter’s church choir for many years. She was also a leader of the RCIA classes at St. Peters. She was a member of The Assistance League of Chaves County and  a volunteer for over eight years at the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico and also for the Special Olympics. She enjoyed arts and crafts, calligraphy, softball, country music, reading, QVC shopping, game nights, and Farkling. Elizabeth other loves were cooking, family time (especially with her grandkids and great grandkids), and spending time with her dear friends.

Elizabeth loved and had fond memories of working at Taco Box, Tastee Freeze, driving the school bus, DVR program, Special Occasions with Les and Loretta Walker, and especially working as medical assistant with her dear friends, Dr. Nine and his wife, Judy.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McVay, Mark McVay, Ralph Tellez, Trevor McVay, Alec Davis and Bryce Davis. Honorary pallbearer is her beloved husband, Phil Fry.

To know her is to love her! Elizabeth was an organ donor, so may a piece of her live on forever.  She touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered for the loving care she gave to others. Her laugh, smile, and giving spirit will never be forgotten.

The family would like to thank University Medical Center CILU unit and South Plains Rehab Facility in Lubbock, Texas, and Mary Ann McGuire, PA in Roswell, NM for the precious care given to Elizabeth.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in honor of Elizabeth to Poor Clare Monastery, 809 E. 19th St., Roswell, NM 88201.
