BROWN, EMMA FRANCES Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2008 at South Park Cemetery for Frances Brown, age 99, of Roswell, who passed away September 9, 2008. Pastor Matthew Brooks of First Baptist Church will officiate.

Frances was born April 16, 1909 in Hale, Missouri to Hansford Quall Jeffrey and Emma Catherine Hininger Jeffrey. The family moved to Roswell in 1926 from Oklahoma.

Frances married Charles L. Brown on June 28, 1930. He preceded her in death as well as her parents, brothers Wilbur Jeffrey and Chester Jeffrey and nephews Quade Jeffrey and Donald Jeffrey.

Frances is survived by nieces Lucille Fox and her husband Phil of Newville, PA; Elva Sherrill of Stafford, KA; Shirley Ishamel and her husband Lyle of Fargo, OK; Peggy Jeffrey from Roswell; nephew Larry Jeffrey and his wife Jody from San Diego, CA; and several great nieces and nephews.

Frances was a member of First Baptist Church since 1926. She was saved in 1918. She was a very faithful and Christian lady, always had a smile for everyone. She was a bookkeeper for Omar Leach Wholesale, Roswell Trading Co and Fletcher and Company. She was a member of PEO, La Sertoma, Beta Signa Phi and American Business Women. She was secretary for the Mary Martha Class into her Nineties. She taught a teenage girls class in Oklahoma. She loved animals especially cats.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to any of the ministries of First Baptist Church, 500 N. Pennsylvania, Roswell, NM 88201, or the charity of your choice.

Frances would want all her caretakers from Adams Services, Frontier Medical, Vista Care and La Villa know that she loved each one of you, Dr. Jinnah, who spoiled her, and her faithful neighbor Gene Wolf. We the families extend our gratitude for all you did for our dear aunt.
