Tandy, age 86, of Roswell, N.M. passed away Christmas Eve December 24, 2015. He was surrounded by family as he left our mortal plain to embark on his next adventure. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am January 23, 2016 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 505 N. Pennsylvania Ave, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
E.F. was born to Enid Forrest Tandy, Sr. and Hazel Margaret Sharpe-Tandy on February 7, 1929 in El Paso, Texas. He was a wonderfully flawed man who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. E.F. survived the Great Depression, WWII, combat in the Korean War, and perhaps the most dangerous was raising four daughters. He was a follower of the Mickey Mantle School of Life. If he knew he was going to live this long he would have taken better care of himself. He loved, fought, learned, and argued his way through life. He traversed the peaks and valleys of life with grit and determination so rarely seen in this world. His lessons of what and more importantly what not to do will never be forgotten. The world is a less interesting place without him. Ned was a unique man who will be missed. He was a man of many talents; he was an engineer, surveyor, Chaves County Road Superintendent, and County Manager.
He was preceded in death by his second wife Helen Waters Tandy, his third wife Lois Clark-Tandy, Son-in-law Richard Lang, his mother Hazel Margaret Sharpe-Tandy, and his father Enid Forrest Tandy, Sr.
He is survived by his first wife Anne Tandy Betchie; his four daughters Cecelia Mayne and husband Bill, their children Will and Jinny; Rebecca Davis and husband Charles, their children Patricia and Pamela; Lea Anne Johnson and husband Troy, their children Cindy, Dusty, Sherry, and Melissa; Enid Smith and husband Gary, their children Amos and Wyatt; 17 great grandchildren; also survived by the family of Helen Waters-Tandy and the family of Lois Clark-Tandy.
