Erminda Hollis

HOLLIS, ERMINDA MINNIEA Rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 7:00 P.M., April 1, 2008 at Assumption Catholic Church for Erminda Minnie Hollis, age 79, of Roswell, who passed away March 29, 2008 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX. A Mass will be prayed at 12:10 P.M., Wednesday, April 2, 2007 at Assumption Catholic Church, with Fr. Bill McCann officiating, with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Minnie was born on August 17, 1928 in Artesia, New Mexico to Pablo and Isabel Peppin, they have preceded her in death, as well as a son, Christopher, a brother, Lonnie Peppin and a sister Icelia Gonzales.

Minnie is survived by sons: James David Hollis and his wife Janet of Alcalde, NM, John Clayton Hollis from Hobbs, NM and Gene Orona from Hobbs; a daughter: Minnie L. Hollis of Roswell; brother Dee Gonzales and his wife Isabel; sisters: Lucy Cantu and her husband James of Rancho Cordova, CA, Penny Briseno and her husband Ruben of Roswell and Cicilia Ortega and her husband Steve of Roswell; Two step-sisters, Seniada Dellano and Henrietta Martinez; sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Minnies family moved to Roswell when she was a young child. She attended Mark Howell Elementary School, Roswell Junior High and Roswell High School. She studied nursing at Baylor University in Waco, TX. She worked several years at St. Marys Hospital and ENMMC.

Pallbearers will be David Hollis, Aaron Hollis, Trina Barela, Mike Sanchez, Bernie Martinez and Willie Fuentes.
