Eula Morey

MOREY, EULA MAE- Eula Mae Morey, a longtime resident of Roswell NM passed away peacefully on June 27, 2018. She was born December 6, 1929 in Melrose, NM to Raslee and Fred Andrews. She attended Melrose public schools and graduated 1947. She married Gene Morey on May 15, 1947 in Clovis, NM. They lived in Alamogordo and moved to Roswell in 1955. She worked and retired from Levi Strauss after 22 years. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing for family. She also enjoyed crocheting. She was loved and admired by all who knew her.

Eula was a farm girl and had a great love for animals, especially horses. She married Gene just after World War II and was a military wife for many years. She was a great wife, mother, friend and companion to everyone who knew her. Eula was very proud that she had the same friends and neighbors for many years.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Smith and husband TJ of Roswell NM; one sister Betty Reece of Visalia CA; grandchildren Billy Morey and wife Tara of Centralia, WA; Crystal Morey and Malcolm Thompson of Farmington, NM; Travis Smith and Brittany of Roswell, NM; two special grandchildren, Crystal Fujihara and husband David of Rio Rancho NM and Melissa Tucker of Clovis NM; eleven great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene; son, Bill Morey; sisters Mary Roberts and Lola Fay Rogers; and brother Willy Andrews.

(Added by niece, Laura Faye: I wanted to add that she made the best boloney sandwich in the world - and that she enjoyed sewing for family - even when someone changed the dresses by adding some fabric that didn't even match!)

We would like to give a very special thank you to Ginny and the entire staff, the angels at Heartfelt Manor, for their love, caring and compassion the last few years. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

A Funeral Service for Eula will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 2, 2018 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, burial will follow at South Park Cemetery with Pastor Jack Ferguson officiating
