Eva Roberts

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, June 2, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Eva Mae Roberts, age 88, who passed away on May 23, 2015.

Eva Mae was born in Cordell, Oklahoma on November 24, 1926 to Jesse and Eva Kilgore. She moved with her parents and younger sister to New Mexico in 1929. They homesteaded near Bingham, New Mexico, until they moved to Roswell in 1940.

Eva had a quiet strength to her; she devoted her life to her family. She was creative and taught everyone in the family to play dominoes. Her weekly dominoes games with her brother, Thomas and uncle Willis, was something she always looked forward to. It was usually a battle between her and Willis, as both of their skills where something to be reckoned with. She was an inspiration and lived her life to the fullest. Her faith guided her and lives on in her children. "There is no goodbye; it simply means we will miss you until we will meet again"

She married Arlie Roberts, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Thomas Kilgore.

She is survived by two sisters, Alice Pierson of Elkins, Arkansas and Lavida Hamilton of Sherwood, Arkansas; three children, Douglas of Oregon City, Oregon; Hugh of Roswell, New Mexico and daughter, Laura Sue of Roswell, New Mexico; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
